GENERAL INFORMATION

The dead-end with eyelet (APDO) is recommended for CA/CAA aluminum conductor on the primary and in rural electrification networks. It replaces the distribution preformed loop, because it is applied directly to the disc insulator eyelet. Made from galvanized steel wires or aluminum clad steel. Identified by the letters "RA" after the main code for this manufacturing condition. An abrasive material applied on its inner side improves the grip on the cable.

ADVANTAGES

• Does not require the use of thimble or thimble shackle/clevis;
• On maintenance procedures, the pin removal simplifies the replacement of the insulator without removing the APDO dead-end from conductor.
